Is it possible to drink TOO much water?Rating: (votes: 0) the reason i'm asking is this---i can not stand the taste of plain water....never have...don't know why. i use the crystal light packets (the sweet tea flavor) and love them. so i get my water, with no sugar or calories--works for me! the thing is, i bought a 64 ounce travel mug thingy (technical term there huh?) and i fill it up in the morning before i go to work. well, usually around lunch, i end up filling it up again and drink it by the end of the day. is this bad for me? if i drink the entire thing twice, that's 8 crystal light packets (1 per 16 ounces, 4 for 64 ounces). *also, i'm 7 weeks pregnant...don't know if that would factor in or not* You can drink too much water, and the side effect is death due to electrolyte imbalance. But I really doubt you are anywhere near a risk factor. Typically only happens to athletes, US Marines in bootcamp and really dumb radio contestants. Comment:

I've read a few articles online about the aspartame in Crystal Light and the most common problem seems to be migraines, which I have a history of, but I don't have any headaches or anything when I drink the Crystal Light....I don't want to cause any problems for me or the baby during my pregnancy, obviously, but I want to make sure I get enough fluids also. I read online that you're okay to have 50 mg of aspartame per 2.2 lbs of body weight---does anyone know if this is correct?

Quote from Isabelle49You might want to consult your MD about h2o intake. If I were pregnant, not about to be at 61, I would not use any artificial sweeteners or chemically engineered foods. If you were diabetic, I would say follow your doc's advise. No sense in taking unnecessary chances that could lead to heartbreaking problems. Best of luck to you and your bebe.
