Recapping

Okay, my OR nurses...is it against AORN recommended standards and practices to reconstitute baci/poly sterile fashion then open a sterile bottle of saline, add the reconstituted mixture and then RECAP the bottle until it is ready to pour to the field?
No, recapping is likely to contaminate. Isn't it correct practice to constitute it when it is required? I've never seen an OR nurse recapping a sterile bottle.

Comment:
I've only done clinicals in an OR, but the nurses there did not re-cap anything. In Oz we do not re-cap needles even if they are clean. It's a very bad habit to get into, with tragic consequeces (I've admonished students re this and for some reason, they think 'passive' re-capping is OK!) We were never taught this and do not do it.
