USF vs UMDRating: (votes: 0) My question is based on your personal information or experience what would you recommend...to give a little more background the nursing program i applied to is located at Shady Grove Campus and is much less expensive than attending and staying on campus in Baltimore or College Park...it would also save me a large amount of money...on the other hand I would like to move out and have a new experience for the next 2 to 3 years while living in San Francisco What advice would you give in attending either program based on reputation TIA Hello,I live in the Bay Area and if expense is a concern USF is not the place. SFO is a great place to live in but also expensive. USF has a good reputation but it would not be my first choice for undergrad. Comment:

I'd go with UMB...I go there now and it is top 7 in the nation for nursing schools...highly recommend!

I currently go to UMD at Baltimore. I would say that my education there has been pretty good, but I have not gone to any other nursing school. I graduate in about a month from now. Would I change anything about the school? I would try and do away with a lot of these little assignments that ask of us. Asides from that, I do not have any complaints. You would have plenty of clinical placements to choose from and the professors will do what they can to give you the experiences you seek. I would imagine that rent would be a lot cheaper around the Bmore campus than Shady Grove.

I am doing the online RN-BSN program...I, like yourself, already held a previous B.S. degree in another field. I went to Howard Community college after my first degree and completed their accelerated nursing program in 13 months to become a RN. So now that I have been working at a RN, I am taking classes part-time at UMB online. So I am technically a Baltimore campus student, but all my classes are online. I am not 100 percent sure what the differences are between classes from my program to the traditional BSN program. I only have to take 10 classes to get the BSN. I am about to finish my first two, so it will be a couple years before I finish...no rush though!I agree with the previous poster that UMB has a lot of little assignments and GROUP assignments that suck a lot, but I feel like they'd be in any program.Good luck hearing from UMB! They take forever to give people decisions by the way!
