Unemployed and Pregnant...Rating: (votes: 0) ![]() ![]() ![]() I became licensed in July of last year and I was 13 weeks pregnant. I started applying right away but only got a few interviews through last summer/fall. Needless to say, new RN + being visibly pregnant did not look too great and I didnt get any job that I interviewed for.I had my son in January. I started applying again (well I never quit applying actually). I had a couple interviews in Feb, and got a job offer in March. I start Monday...almost 10 months after being licensed. Yes I totally understand that clueless feeling, but they know I am a new RN and inexperienced. They expect you to be somewhat clueless. I keep telling myself (as do my classmates who have been working for awhile now) that I will learn fast and not to worry. These feelings are normal.Good luck in the rest of your pregnancy and job search. Try not to worry yourself too much. Things have a way of working themselves out and you will have a job in no time! You'll be fine, your brain didn't fall out. You will feel rusty for a day or so, as long as you go back to what you know. If you enter a new area you will be all thumbs no matter when you start. Keep up on your reading, that is a great way to stay in touch. Good luck.

I hope ur baby is OK. Can you do any training courses anywhere, just to keep ur knowledge up? You can do lots of reading etc, but it would be better if you could do a formal training course.
