You know it's going to be a crazy night at work when

they have called at least 4 times begging for help........

Sigh....we are going to get beat up AGAIN tonight. Hoping this is not the new normal.
Unfortunately, I believe it's now just the NORMAL! Not new anymore.

... when you walk in and the patient is throwing a chair at the door (psych)

...........when you turn on the TV and they're showing escape routes out of the city.

When you drive to work and see a full moon. Uggghhh...

When you show up on the floor to start work and and the nurses you are relieving say "I've never been so glad to see you!"

When you walk up to the time clock and the entire day shift crew advises you to run while you've still got the chance........

when you see multiple helicopters and ambulances in the parking lot

..you know that wild, agitated patient you gave me in report? Well he slept all day! I didn't need togive him any sedatives. But he is waking up now.

The patient in room 24 just told me he is having chest pain!

The short bus is parked outside your facility...

On your team of 6 patients you have 3 empty rooms; the 3 patients you do have are total care, there is no aide, and the ER is full downstairs...
