Single Moms Relocating

I'd like to know of any single moms that have relocated to different cities for jobs as an RN. How did you develop a new support system? How did you find childcare? Do you love or regret your decision? Also, where did you relocate to? I really want to relocate in a couple of years (my youngest will be 3 then) and I'd like to hear from other moms that have done it. Thanks!
Not a mommy yet, im only 23...but while i was in nursing school i babysat for a single mom. She had about 3-4 babysitters she would rely on. she worked nights, so we all loved babysitting her kids. I picked the kids up from school so she could sleep before she goes to work. She woke up enough time to have dinner with the kids. She would leave, i would get the kids ready for bed, finish up homework if we needed more time etc. they go off to bed at 8:00 on weekdays, 9:00 on weekend and i get the house quiet, time for me to study and do my homework. She had a bedroom for her babysitters. I'd get the kids up/ready for school, she would come home have breakfast with the kids and the kids would be off to school, she would sleep...and to do it all over again. So yea...not a mommy, but i know it can be done. I know single moms who still work as a nurse, some how they manage to work and raise wonderful children

I would love to relaocate to get a better paying hospital job too! But I am too scared to leave my free babysitting and great support system. Interested in hearing what others have to say

15 years ago, I packed up a U-Haul trailer (towing a car) and my girls drove my van. My boys rode w/ me. We moved from North Dakota to Louisiana. I was actually moving closer to family. My kids were all at the age that I no longer needed sitters. My family was somewhat close to me (between 50 and 200 miles). I made new friends at work and church and met the parents of my boys school mates. Change can be scary, but it can also be good.
