2nd week orientation @ Adult day health but want to quitRating: (votes: 9) I suggest you don't quit in an email.....you can send an email asking to meet with them, then IN PERSON, let them know:1. How much you appreciate the opportunity they gave you2. How much you like the facility and them3. But have figured out quickly that the position is not a GOOD FIT.4. Offer to keep working until they have a replacement hiredThat would be the PROFESSIONAL way to handle it . . . and it leaves the door open if there's another job there someday that would be a better fit. I would like to give you my thoughts, but first just know this is from my HR & Staffing perspective. 1st -talk with your Charge RN 1st... Tell them it is not a match with your goals and you do not feel that Adult Day Health is the route you should have taken. You Appreciate the Opportunity, but you are pursuing another option. Tell your Charge you would like to be released from your orientation immediately if possible or you will stay as a professional courtesy till next Friday. The ball is in his/her court. Then after your Verbal notification follow up with the email to the Charge RN..RECAPPING THE CONVERSATION AND RESTATING YOUR NOTICE. please make sure you cc yourself and the site Coordinator or HR.Never ever should you send a email or text only to quit a job. (not saying you would but i have had it happen to me before or got a call from a boyfriend or grandmother that so and so was not returning and when could they get their check)

Agree with the above poster. You should do this professionally, regardless of if you hate it or not. Do NOT email them and say you are quitting... Would you want them to email you and tell you your fired? No. You never know who you will need in the future and you dont want to burn any bridge

I'd ask to meet and hand deliver a typed, professional letter. No one has to give you a job. Be sure to thank them for the opportunity. I'd give two weeks, at least and offer to stay up to a month, if needed so they can take their time in making a new selection. I'd anticipate they'd let me go before two weeks are up. I would not indicate I was "bored", but find something honest and positive to say about the company or the people I worked with. Are sure about quitting? Maybe the added hours or some aspect of the Adult Day Care could make you eligible, for a better position or more hours at your hospital job?"I'm bored." Does not sound like a great combintion with meds...be careful.
