RN Case Manager for retirement centerRating: (votes: 0) ![]() ![]() What do you as RN case managers (home health) for a retirement facility do?? Much thanks! Epona ![]() ![]() I am in the same exact boat! Your situation almost exactly mirrors mine except that I had 6 months in the ICU. However, that is a few years ago. I would also appreciate anyone answering this post. Comment:
Hi all! Any ideas on this?? Thanks! Epona

Try posting in the home health forum for more responses. Generally, I would not recommend home health to any new grad or any nurse without several years of experience. Home health is a very difficult specialty to get a handle on for even an experienced nurse. New grads tend to become lost and overwhelmed very quickly. There are a few exceptions, but they are few and far between. Try shadowing a home health nurse for a day or two before you decide to enter this specialty area.

Wow KateRN1. That is very good advice. I am thinking it would not be too acute (in a retirement center), and I have had med surg experience, so I am thinking it would not be too bad, but who knows.... maybe you are right! THANKS!
