Ridiculous V/S...are you out of your mind?

I had a CNA hand me the vitals and tell me a BP was low. She had 60/70 written down. She also admitted she does not know how to or want to use a manual cuff.
Spooky. I am guessing she uses ESP to get the vitals. How did you handle the situation? Write her up? Educate? I am curious.

bahaha,This is ridiculous. Hopefully you showed her how to use a manual cuff... I am all for education over writing up, I think it does more good for the majority of the people in the long run. If she refuses to learn or even try to learn, thats when she just has to go.

Comment:
So she admitted to not knowing how to use the equipment and essentially admitted to making up the BP? I would recommend education, however how are you to trust this individual in the future? Anytime you delegate something to them there is always going to be some sort of doubt over if it was actually done and done properly.

When I started out, I was scared to death of the manual bp cuff. I practiced and practiced until it 'clicked'. I prefer using the manual over the other doohickey. The difference between that CNA and me is that I wanted to learn.

Comment:
Maybe she was standing on her head when she took the BP

Depending on my patient load, I'll probably just take VS on my own, not have the CNA do it.
