i have a medical marijuana card - can i still be a nurse?

i live in california and have a medical marijuana card. i'm signed up to start my prereqs but thought i would ask here first.

i DO NOT smoke. i have the card for other reasons. is this going to hurt me? doesn't the background just cover arrests?

Some employers give mandatory pre employment drug screens. You might want to contact the Board with your questions. You could also call some HR departments of prospective employers and just ask what their policies are. But before you worry about employment, you must worry about getting a license. Why do you have the card if you don't need to smoke marijuana? I don't understand.

i got it a long time ago for legitimate back problems. i don't like the taste of smoke in my mouth so i used it once then never again.

Well I cant see where the card itself should hurt you. I am a card carrying member of the US Marijuana party. Yes there is such a political party. Has not hurt me at all. I support the purpose of the party at this time I do not practice the usage of MJ,. But I do recognize the benefits of it medically.

i would be more concerned that the back injury would come back and make it difficult for you to work than the med mj card.
