Nurse full time means?????

Is there such thing as a nurse working 7 days a week
How many hrs a day do nurses work

Would they even let you work 7 hrs a week
Most nurses work either 8 or 12 hour shifts. I work "full time" which is three 12 hour shifts per week, so 36 hours. I used to work eight hour shifts and was considered part time at 32 hours a week. I guess it is possible that you could work seven days in a week occasionally if your unit was very busy and short-handed but I think that is unlikely and wouldn't happen often if at all. I used to work seven days per week when I was working two full-time jobs. One job had a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00am to 2:00pm, so this particular workplace generated 40 hours for me. The other job had a Saturday/Sunday schedule of 16 hours per day, from 6:00am to 10:00pm, for a grand total of 32 hours on the weekend. I worked seven days per week for almost one year as a way to save money for school. It is tiring and affects a person's quality of life. Working seven days per week could also affect the health later on down the line. I wouldn't recommend it unless you have a temporary goal in mind and the need to save some serious cash.

Maybe you work certain days and then are on call the rest of the time. Some unit managers are on call "24/7".

One job I didn't take was offering 7 days of 12 hr shifts, then 7 days off. Some overtime junkies would work most of their week off, too. Usually 40 hours a week is normal full time - using 8, 19 or 12 hour shifts.

Our unit contract allows for seven shifts to be worked back to back then with a specified four off. The nurses unlucky enough to have them in their rotation hate it with a passion.

Yea i want to work 7 hours per week. Just for like 6 years though. Unless its illegal. As long as i get my full sleep.

Where I work over 75 hours ina 2 week pay period is full time.Anything over that is OT.I have 13 shifts this pay period, so it does happen.

There is a shift that is popular around my neck of the woods. It's a 3-2-2 shift. You work 3 twelve hour days, have 2 off, work 2, off 3. You get every other weekend off if it's set up right and have 84 hours every two weeks (plus OT of course.)
