confused with fingerprints

I'm about to renew my license in california and it says it requires me to submit fingerprints....reading the rules, it says it requires me to submit fingerprints if I am renewing an active license after 2009, but it also says I am not required to submit fingerprints if I have submitted fingerprints before... so, does the live scan that I submitted during initial licensure count? or do i need to submit a new set??? 'cuz I mean it doesnt make sense if I just submitted more than a couple years ago, I am sure I have not erased my fingerprints during that time period..
this is a question to ask the board of registration in nursing. call them. they're in sacramento and in the phone book.they will tell you to read the question (which, if you are describing it accurately, includes the answer you seek), and then if you tell them you did and you still don't get it, they will tell you the answer over the phone.

Agree with above, but as a personal experience I was required to get fingerprinted this year when I renewed and I had been fingerprinted as well on initial licensure 8 years ago. Not sure why since I never got a clear answer just "We're making everyone do it."

i see, so then i guess that means fingerprinting and CEUs every 2 years for as long as your license is active...how fun...

Well, this is only the second time in 8 years, so maybe only every fourth time you renew Personally, I wish there were more continuing education requirements for RN's. But I know I'm in the minority on that one.

If it's required then it needs to be done but only the board has thre answer.
