Amsn certification test questionRating: (votes: 0) I'm confused. Is your question about the Academy of Medical Surgical Nursing Certification test? CMSRN If yes,My test was a paper and pencil test booklet with senerios and multiple choice questions related to the senario. Simplified ex: a 23 yr old female admitted for GIB, came to the ED last PM with......, her vital signs are currently...... she has an IV of ......., Doctor has ordered ....... , you are preparing then patient for an EGD, what is prep will this patient most likely have?. Next question: what do you teach the patient about her test. 4 multiple choice answer options- you pick the best or the most correct answer. We were given 4 hours to complete the test. It was exactly like the old Nursing state board test pool questions in the 1980's- not a computer in sight. You have to completed all the questions or they were counted as wrong answers. Finished my test in 1 hour and got a 95%. Comment:
Thanks for the response. I understand the test is multiple questions, and sort of what they are looking for, etc..I don't know how long ago you took your test, but they offer computerized or P/P test. The computer test you can test at any scheduled time, whereas the P/P is only offered at certain times a year, according to the AMSN website. I'm signed up ready to go and they even sent me a keyboard tutorial just in case I don't know how to use 4 keys. You still have to complete the test, even if you guess, but I read that it's like NCLEX and it turns off after so many. This does not make sense to me if P/P is still offered. I don't think the monitoring person is going to rip the paper out of somebodys hands, and tell them they are done, lol. Anyway, I was just trying to get another opinion.

I took my test in CMSRN Certification in 2006. I can't answer the NCLEX question- if the computer turns off. I didn't take a computer NCLEX version. I took the state board test pool version of the nursing boards back in 1980- 2 full 8 hour days, paper and pencil
