Being a patient while a nurse

So I was close to having my first experience as a patient this afternoon. I had to visit the ER today during my shift and realized after being triaged that there was absolutely NO WAY I could stay. From the waiting room I begged an appointment from my PCP office so I could do anything else but stay. To stay on topic I'd rather not discuss my issue but let's just say your pain tolerance increases when the possibility of being an inpatient in your own place of work becomes a possibility. Has anyone else ever had this experience?
