Can I live this lifestyle as a nurse?

Rating:
(votes: 9)

I want to be a RN.I see myself living in Boston, California or New York city (I know the expenses to living in these locations) For a car I dont need anything super nice! Just a regular sedan- not old but it doesn't necessarily have to be new either. I want to live in a nice apartment or house (only 3 bedrooms)But I would like to have my iPhone still! Also vacations- they wouldn't be every year but every once in a while to somewhere nice with in the country.
Typical pay for registered nurses in those areas: Overview of BLS Wage Data by Area and OccupationLocal newspapers/real estate listings ...Travel sites on which you can hypothetically plan the vacations you see yourself wanting to take ...Car manufacturer websites list the MSRP of various vehicles ...Do the math.

Comment:
If a person has no consumer debt and isn't an idiot with their money, they can pretty much live whatever lifestyle they choose (within reason) on a nurse's salary, regardless of where they live.Might I recommend the books "Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey and "The Automatic Millionaire" by David Bach?

on this level, i will say that as a travel nurse i lived in both locations ny & california. although, when it came to ny i didn't need a vehicle since their subway system allows you to travel anywhere you please without having to think about parking, yearly license plates etc. moreover, i was able to live the lifestyle which you are describing without feeling depraved. in addition, i also went on vacation once a year plus some small getaways on every other 3 or 4 holidays without minimizing any expense. in other words, what you're asking is feasible as long as you don't go overboard. wishing you the very best always ....aloha~
