New Graduate Nurse... any thoughts??Rating: (votes: 0) I'm Vickie. I joined this forum at the start of my nursing school career, but I've been inactive for the most part because I haven't had any time (I'm sure you all know how that one goes). Anyways, I have finally graduated from St. Joseph's College of Nursing!! My ceremony is tomorrow. I just have been granted my absolute DREAM job... as a GN on our psych ward. I never knew I loved psych until I completed my clinical rotation for it at a local psychiatric center... and then I was hooked. I took two weeks of between the end of my classes and my first day on the job, because I wanted to give myself a little time to decompress after two years of doubling up nursing classes and prerequisites. So to all the experienced nurses, and to all the newbies like myself... what are some helpful tips for starting my career as a GN, while prepping for my RN state boards?? |
