Creating a unit newsletter- help!

Hi, I've been lurking the forum for awhile, but just joined because I need some help.
My unit (a NICU) has not had a montly newsletter before, but we're growing and changing and I have been tasked with writing and designing the newsletter. It can include anything I want. It will be mostly electronically distributed (email), but we'll probably print and put a couple copies on the unit.

It's been a while since I worked in a unit that did a newsletter- can you help me with ideas of what to put in it? What does your unit have in theirs?

I was thinking of formatting it with topics like birthdays, education, announcements, intros... um... what else?
You could highlight a staff member each month...kind of a "get to know" section.Celebrations of years of service. Celebrations about the unit...what you are doing well at.
