1 year experience looking for registry work

I am a fairly new grad interested in supplementing my pay with registry work. The hospital I work for is in the midst of union contract negotiations and we seem to be on strike every other month. There are also whispers of lay offs. Anyone know of any registries in the Bay Area that accept nurses with one year acute experience- or any suggestions as to what else I should be considering? I have also begun looking for other hospitals in case the lay off threat is real.
