Coding QA? Can this be learned on the job?

Does anyone have experience with medical coding and QA? How hard is this to get into? Can it be learned on the job? I only have clinical experience.
Coding and QA are different. Are you wanting to leave bedside nursing? Medical Coding can be hospital based or office/clinic-based. Some places only want those that are certified with years of experience. I'd research each and then choose the one that fits your personality and goals. Then start networking with those in that position and get advice on how to proceed. This is of course, only my opinion. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge will be able to give you more help.
