RN license required to teach in other states...Rating: (votes: 0) I'm an active and practicing RN in PA who was recently hired by an online company for online teaching assignments. I've been given my first assignment, and it is for a campus which is physically located in Ohio. I'm told that I'm required to apply for a teaching permit/temporary license from the Ohio Board of Nursing before I can start teaching. Does anybody know if this is fairly common in all 50 states, or if this only applies to certain states? -Thanks I would think this applies to all states. You couldn't provide care in a state without a license there. Comment:
you can get info from the BON in different states, but I believe it is an expectation that you are licensed in that state. You are probably going to be expected to know the BON rules in that state as well.
