which shift 3pm-3:30 AM or 11AM-11:00PMRating: (votes: 0) Where I work we have an 11am-11pm as well as a 3pm-3am shift. It's called mid-shift, working in the ER these can be the busiest times so these shifts make sense. I work 11 to 11 and I love it. Comment:
Those are both very common shifts in the ER.I agree flex and rotating shifts are a result of an employers' market though.

undoubtedly, there's a change in the air, where i work we mostly do 12hr. shifts without overtime and every other weekend. therefore, we don't do anything drastic when it comes to schedule.

I used to work 11a-11p as an ER Tech and loved it! I did a short stretch of 3p-3a and hated it. Who knew 4 hours made such a difference! These are typical shifts offered in the ER. As pinkstethoscope said, they cover the busiest times.
Comment:
I love both equally. They fly and you usually see the best cases during those times!

I have seen these shifts used frequently in ERs and in some ICUs. I personally would rather work 11A-11P over 3P-3A but that's me. My floor does not have a 3P-3A person but we do usually have at least one 11A-11P person/day.

Those are typical ER shifts.

I just love 11A - 11P. I have worked this schedule in two different jobs and hospitals, one ICU and the other PACU. It is perfect if you are a "night person", but not an ALL night person. Stay up late every night and sleep in every day

Those are pretty common ER shifts, as 11am-3am are the busiest times in the ER. We have the most staff during those hours, so need shifts that fall along those hours. I actually don't mind the 3-3 shift too much. I hate the 11-11 though, lol. Those aren't exactly "unusual" shifts for the ER.

Those are awesome shifts for a night owl, have worked several.

No idea why you think 11-11p or 3p-3a as anything to do with an employer's market. These are common shifts in the ER and in some ERs, they are so popular that people fight to get on them.

I currently work 3p-3:30a, I love it. It's to cover where the staff is needed the most. Then we have someone come in from 3a-3:30p, works out great for our busy cardiac floor!
