holding gtube feeding after constipation resolved

My pt with gtube had no bm for 3 days. I called MD b/c the residual was 150cc. MD told me to hold evening feeding (2 cans of Oscal 1.5). 10minutes later, suppository results in successful BM. Residual is now 40. So, I called the MD back. But he said still hold the evening feeding. Why?
One BM does not mean resolution necessarily. Some of these people can hold on to a lot. The doc wants to easy as she goes... so to speak.
