Will getting a masters degree as an NP hurt me as compared to getting a DNP?

I am applying to grad school in a couple of months, and was planning on entering a NP program. I am now concerned that with all of the schools switching to DNP, that once I get a masters degree as an NP, I won't get hired because employers would want a DNP. Any advice/experience on this?

That should not be a problem. Many of these schools are changing to DNP, but that doesn't mean that NPs with MSNs will be considered less desirable. As someone in an MSN NP program who is currently going through clinicals, I can tell you that these employers do not care. Most of them don't even know what a DNP is! And, as far as I'm concerned, DNPs do not possess any superior clinical skills, in comparison to MSNs. So, it shouldn't hurt your chances of getting a job.(And, this is just my opinion--the whole DNP thing is a crock of ****)
