Time for a Micro Review...

Which bacteria make a febrile patient's urine smell like fish?
No idea and I just finished a micro course in April. We did cover some uti's but I don't remember any that made urine smell like fish. Has a UA been done? Could be klebsiella, e.coli, strep?

I would guess trichimonis (did not check spelling)

Seems that I vaguely recall something about trich and a fishy smell?

Not sure about urine, but the "Clue cells" obtained with a cervical smear will give off that fishy smell during the whiff test.
