Nurse burnout

I know I complain a lot in everyday of my life as a novice nurse, but at the end of the day, I feel good that somehow I was able to change someone's life, if only in a small way and sometimes in a large way. It's very gratifying! I wish I could survive all of this. :")

It is VERY well worth it, but the burnout continues to grow. I have fellow colleagues working in hospitals who have up to 12 very ill patients at a time who tell me they just go into the bathroom and night and cry. I couldn't imagine. I prefer clinic nursing..it is my calling. I love the education time and one on one. Nursing is such a beautiful thing but you have to remember to care for yourself as well. You worked HARD to get that license, and these days have to work even HARDER to keep it with the whirlwind of things going on around you. Remember to give yourself some "ME" time when possible...whether it be 5 minutes for a quiet cup of coffee, a bubble bath, or a mani/pedi
