Problems Wearing Kimberly Clark Nitrile Gloves?

I've been working in the hospital setting for 2.5 years now, and in the past month or so I've had 2 negative reactions while wearing the purple hospital gloves. The first time I reacted negatively, I was simply applying pressure to a pt's thigh for about 15 min. The second incident, I was standing in a pt's room discussing their injuries/interventions with fellow coworkers. Both times, I was wearing gloves and mostly standing in the same spot for greater than 10 minutes. Both times, my body temperature seemed to spike, I got extremely nauseous, and felt like I was going to pass out. The first time, I excused myself, ran to the bathroom, and threw up twice. Once my body calmed down, I was in a cold sweat and very shaky. The second incident was pretty much the exact same, however, I was able to not throw up. It's not my blood sugar that's dropping, so I'm assuming for whatever reason that my BP is plummeting when I seem to wear gloves for a period of time. What is strange is that I have worn gloves for extended periods before with no issue. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this sort of reaction. It's extremely embarrassing when it occurs, so I'd like to figure out what may be causing this to happen!
Not that drastic of a reaction, no. I'm sorry that happened to you! I do get very itchy hands after using nitrile gloves. I can only use the vinyl ones, as latex makes me itchy too. I'm not much help, just wanted to let you know that I do have a mild, albeit immediate reaction to the nitrile as well. Use the vinyl ones (if your hospital doesn't supply them, make them! The last thing anyone wants is you on the wrong side of the hospital bed).

Let's think this through for a second -- does true anaphylaxis magically resolve without intervention?Consider that in both instances you were standing in one place for a prolonged period of time. What effects can that have on circulation? What would the symptoms be? There ya go.
