Issues with home care agencyRating: (votes: 0) Is there a reason you did not give a 2 week notice? Comment:
I gave one month's notice!!! They want me to stay beyond that!
Comment:
Well then I would not give them one more minute of my time. I believe they are just trying to scare you. I worked HH, albeit briefly, and I know how anal they are with documentation. As long as you are sure all loose ends are tied up, I would not stay.
Comment:
What are they threatening to turn you in for? I'd move on.
Comment:
Essentially, they want me to wait until all of my OASIS documents are reviewed by QI/QA and then change answers according to their likes and preferences... which I think is fraud since I am the one that assessed these people. I have made corrections to my documentation as needed. I am a full-time nursing faculty and even working home care one day per week was getting to be too much - that is why I gave a month's notice. I do not have time to sit around and wait for corrections to come back. I have no idea what they would even report me to the SBON for... it can't be falsifying patient records because everything I have is truthful and accurate.
Comment:
You gave the HHA plenty of notice. Your manager should have made sure your documentation was reviewed prior to last day worked so any QI/QA issues addressed. It is QI's job to make sure documentation meets Medicare and reimbursement guidleines: there can be a request to reprioritize diagnosis or add diagnosis based on your documentation but if you do not agree, can not be forced to change it.Agency is unable to report you to BON as long as meet Home Health standards.
Comment:
Agree with PP - this situation sounds uncomfortably close to 'fraud & abuse' territory.
