Charge Nurse Report Tool

I am currently enrolled in a Leadership and Management course as one of my final course requirements for my BN. As a part of the course, I am required to complete a project on behalf of the nurse manager on the floor where I am completing my final practicum.

The nurse manager has tasked me with creating a tool that charge nurses can use when they report off to each other on shift change. As of right now, a verbal report is the only thing that happens.

The floor I'm on is a 40-bed, cardiac/telemetry and general medicine unit.
Can anyone share the tools that their floor is using during charge nurse report? Or direct me to any online resources that may help me in developing this tool?
