Finger stick glucose testing prep

What is the latest standard as far as prep of the site? Still use alcohol and wipe as prep or has that changed?

This is for when we test people and not for people who do their own testing.

As far as I know it is still alcohol prep; however, I would follow company policy/protocol.

Our policy is alcohol swab, allow to dry, poke, wipe away first drop of blood, then sample.

All great ideas, but I kind of wanted to follow a policy that met the standard of care guidelines. But, I can't find them for this!

I guess every place has a different policy.
