Anyone ever donate plasma? I am going to donate tomorrow for the first time. I have donated blood before. I know it's a little different. Just thought someone could maybe give me some pointers? I sometimes get ill when I donate blood. How can I prevent that from happening when I donate my plasma?
I would place this into the realm of "medical advice" which violates the terms and conditions of allnurses.com. Call the agency to which you are donating and ask them.

Comment:
I sold plasma while in school. They hook you up to a dialysis like machine and you run for an hour or so. Pretty boring.

Comment:
I know people with certain medical conditions like asthma are not permitted to donate due to increased risk of adverse effects. You need to contact the plasma donation center for advice

Comment:
I would let the person KNOW who is doing the procedure. I would make sure I ate but we really can't offer medical advice as per the terms of ServiceThread closed.
