Hospital vs. SNF salary?

I currently work in a SNF been there for over two years now. This is my first job after graduating ADN. I've been thinking of trying to apply for a hospital job because alhough the people I work with are great, I feel like I'm not learning a lot in the nursing home. But I don't know anybody who works in a hospital so I have no idea how much the pay is.

How do I go about finding out the rate per hour before turning in applications? I am in the Chicagoland area, Cook county. Do I turn in applications and just hope it could be at least the same or higher than what I'm currently getting per hour? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Or any input on how much is your starting pay if you work in a hospital? Thanks!
I would apply and see what they offer you. Some hospitals post a pay range so look online at their website.

Entirely depends. If you talk to HR, you should be able to find out a starting salary range. I've been working in a SNF, and just got hired at a hospital. I'll make $4/hour more there. However, someone I know works at another SNF is the area and makes even more than I will in the hospital.
