I am glad you are feeling better. However, I am sure that the solution to alarm fatigue has nothing to do with patients silencing their own alarms. I KNOW that is NOT amongst the Joint Commission initiatives.

Comment:
I'm no emergency nurse, but I'm surprised they made you wait with epigastric pain. As for silencing your alarms, I'm sure I would do the exact same thing. In fact, I apologize in advance to any nurse who may care for me if I am ever hospitalized!

What alarm were you silencing? A bed alarm? Why did you need a bed alarm?!?

Comment:
My alarm monitor or tele.

Comment:
No, no, no. While I have silenced an IV alarm, I can't imagine how you managed to silence your monitor without getting out of bed. Not appropriate.I tried to be a 'good' patient but once asked 4 times for pain meds. Not right.

Comment:
We all wind up a patient at one point, glad everything turned out OK
