Cardiovascular tech vs RNRating: (votes: 0) ![]() What is a cardiovascular tech? Do you mean someone who watches the monitors on a tele or step down unit? If so the pay is probably significantly less for the cardiovascular tech. Comment:
A CVT is below a nurse. At least in my experience. It would be a pay cut. When I was a CVT I made around $15/hr. I loved the job, but my wrists hated me.
Comment:
At my facility, the RNs earn more than the respiratory folks, the radiology folks, and the PT folks... and much more than the various techs.
Comment:
Contrary to what everyone says...I live on the West Coast where nurse wages are the highest and the RT, ultrasound/x-ray/CT, OR folks make just as much or more than the RNs and their quality of life/ burnout rates IMO are much better.
Comment:
I too live on the west coast and none our techs make what the equivalent nurse makes. Maybe just because we're union.
