Appropriate gift for co-workers when leaving job?

2 A week from Wednesday will be my last day at the first job I have had as an RN. I work on a med surg floor since April of 2013. I love my co-workers and my manager is fantastic, but an opportunity arose on a cardiac stepdown floor at a hospital significantly closer to home. I am a guy - and I guess by nature I'm not the most creative gift giver. I'd like to make a gesture showing my appreciation for all the help they've given me, whether that be ordering them food or something more thoughtful. I'd be open to any suggestions. thanks.
Coffee supplies? Like a gift basket with coffee, flavored creamers and the like? You're very thoughtful- good luck in your new position!

that's a twist: you're the one leaving, and instead of expecting to RECEIVE a going-away gift, you're planning to give one? Very nice Hard to say what's appropriate, since it certainly isn't the norm....can't say I've even seen it done!But I'd think that anything consumable is appreciated

Thanks a lot for the thoughtful responses.Like I said, they have been good to me. Deciding to leave wasn't easy. They hired me as a new grad and I have only been there a year and a few months. Ideally I would have stayed at least 2 years, but I don't know when an opportunity like this will present itself again so I had to pounce. Cutting my commute down from 45-50 minutes each way to less than 10 minutes.I think coffee supplies is a great idea. The coffee on the floor sucks and lord knows we go through a lot of it, especially on nights.thanks again.

It's pretty normal up my way to give something to your team when you leave.One that comes to mind is canning jars filled with black pens. We all need pens! We've had the coffee and cakes delivery as well.Bring cookies on your first day to your new crew. They will love you.Good luck

I baked my co-workers cupcakes when I left my last job (grocery store haha) maybe pick up some nice gourmet cupcakes and put them in the break room with a nice note thanking them for being a great team! Who doesn't love cupcakes?!

Edibles don't last long, but they sure make an impression.If the goodies are only for the shift you work, that's ok. But if it's for everybody, I'd suggest having two separate batches of whatever labeled "days" and "nights".As a night shifter who usually only gets the crumbs, I especially appreciate it when any food gift is fairly divided.What a nice thing to do.

Very nice thought! I've always brought a gift when leaving a job. Last one was easy -- the coffee maker was old and pretty gross so I replaced it with a new one. It only cost me $30 and my co-workers were really surprised that I left them something useful and badly needed. They loved it.Edibles go quickly but a useful item will always remind them of the thoughtful person you are.
