Pearson Vue: Bullies?

15 So I hear they killed the PVT. Seems unfair and mean. Target: desperate, impatient nursing grads. Showing off their power to make those grads pay a whole $8 to get their results like we had to do before the PVT.
So bullies?
What are these things you talk of? What is Pearson Vue and PVT? Does this have something to do with all this talk of a pop up? Does this have something to do with NCLEX?

Just wanting their $8/test-taker. It adds up, quickly!I took my boards 5/31...SO glad it still worked when I did it - LOL!

I'm GLAD they killed the PVT!!!Now, maybe... just maybe... we'll stop getting constant posts asking if it really works!

They're already trying to find other PVTs. At least the original PVT usually did work. Imagine all the posts asking if these new-fangled ones work!! Time for allnurses to buy a new server!

Back in my day, we took our boards in a big room with proctors and rows and rows of wooden desks in a huge room. The tests took two days, if I recall. I had to go into the big city and stay with my cousin. The rest of my class stayed in hotels, because they didn't have relatives there. Then we waited. I don't think I got my results for a couple of months. Those times were harsh, but we were tough. I figured I passed because, well, I studied hard, I had done well in school, I took the review course, and my school prepared us well, even though it was a lowly ADN one.We didn't have computers in those bygone times...

Back in my day, we had to wait two days for the quick results. But we had to do it barefoot and uphill in the snow both ways!

Oh brother. People need to grow up and get over it. The "trick" was never 100% accurate and never endorsed/addressed by Pearson Vue, and therefore, they aren't responsible for taking away a "trick" they didn't intentionally provide in the first place. I'm sure they were tired of getting calls about getting the positive/passing "trick" and then failing. God forbid they update their system to prevent people from getting unofficial results. In my opinion, Pearson Vue did test takers a favor. Move on, results will post when they're supposed to.

Quote from MrChicagoRNDid you hear that Allnurses is supposedly going to charge $8 for anyone who posts a "does this work?" question.

Quote from RunBabyRNNope, people are still doing it. It's not entirely gone, you just have to put in the CC info at this point (and from the sound of it, you may get charged some?). I still see them on the new grad FB page. Equal amount of complaining there about the PVT, mind you!

One poster reported that some students are actually calling PV and harassing them about fixing their software glitch. Not smart. Can you imagine this scenario:student: 'I'm so ______ with you pieces of ______, you are just doing this to get more money!'PV: 'Nope.'student: 'if you don't bring back your glitch, I'm going to write my nursing board'PV: 'mmmmmmkay, go ahead'student: 'do it right now! I am testing tomorrow and I want to get my results right away...if it isn't ready, I am going to give the testing center hell and tell everyone there what pieces of ___________ you are!'PV: 'where are you testing?'student: 'at _______________ college quad'PV: 'Thanks. You need to call the BON and arrange an alternate means of testing. If you show up to the test center, you will be refused admission to the test. We will also be notifying your board of nursing about your threats.'student: 'huh?'PV: click
