Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian national who was the first person to be diagnosed with the Ebola virus in the United States, died this morning at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, the hospital announced.
"Mr. Duncan succumbed to an insidious disease, Ebola," Texas Health said in a statement. "He fought courageously in this battle."

So sad that the delay in treatment might turn out to be a factor in his disease progression.

If his outcome is inconsistent with a cohort receiving prompt intervention, it will be assumed.

As a side note, the comments section on the Medscape.com article is filled with vicious commentary from multiple physicians. I was saddened to read much of the vitriol.
