I failed my class (BUT I FEEL GREAT)

Ok am I weird or what. ( NUR 108 Fundamentals of Nursing ) I started out in the class with a D on my test and then got 2 C and the last test I got a B, then, I took the final today and passed the final but failed the class by 4 points (which is one question). The odd thing is Im not upset with myself or the fact that I have to take the class over again. I mean I scored higher on the final then some people that pass the class. So i am still going to with joy because I know I can do well and it has shown. I just will get ready to take the class in August. So am I losing my mind or what, being happy even though I have to take the class over?

I think that you should be proud of yourself that you pulled up the grade. I am sorry you have to repeat the class. I think you have the right attitude. Some people would be so upset by not passing that they would want to quit school. But you are taking it in stride and ready to do what you need to do to get what you want. So good luck.

Thanks, I don't think Im under any stress I got over that by the 4th test. My attitude has just changed and I think more positively now. So I am prepared for the next time I have to repeat the class, I think I feel great because I am proud of where I was in the class and where I ended up being.

i think you should take time to regroup. Feel lucky, we are not able to repeat any nursing courses!

hmm sorry I don't see what your happy about at all here, considering you failed a nursing fundamentals class which you should have had an A in to begin with Study harder less internet next time!

I say good job and wish you the best of luck next semester!The first semester of nursing school is killer. It's not because the material is hard per-say, it's because it's a whole new way of thinking and taking tests. It looks like you have that way down now and hopefully the rest of your academic career will go by without any glitches.

We lost almost half the class after the first semester. I think they overwhelm you on purpose and throw alot of busy work at you just to see if you have what it takes to make it. I graduate this weekend, and looking back I can not imagine repeating ANY class over! I dont think my nerves could have taken it! LOL... I have never heard of anyone happy about flunking a nursing class, and that part I do not understand. But, everyone copes differently when life deals them a bad hand. Its important to ask yourself how bad you want this, and learn from your mistakes. If you want it bad enough, it will work out for you in the end.

I think people are misunderstanding the whole point of this post. I know what I did wrong in the class I could have easily passed this class, I made stupid mistakes on the test and I missed passing the class by one question. I think people need to understand that Im not happy I failed the class, I am happy that I worked hard and did the best I can do. This is not the end of my journey, Im not going to sit around and be sad. It happens to the best of them, lots of people have to repeat a class sometimes. Either way passing or failing a class once does not make your a better or worse nurse. So I don't need pity, I was looking for encourgement. I think I have every right to be happy because Im not a quitter and I don't let things like this bring me down. Nursing school is hard and if you can't find that point to keep happy it will take over your life.
