Do you ever feel like you have broken out in a happy rash?

7 There are times when we all experience mild allergic reactions when our bodies come in contact with new substances such as food, chemicals, etc. Some people even experience contact dermatitis as a reaction to new detergents or fabrics. As nurses, we get so comfortable in our scrubs...they are like a second skin. When we put on street clothes, our body doesn't know how to act. Do you ever feel like you have broken out in a happy rash when you get to escape your scrubs and join the normal people in normal clothes?
I'm so old I remember before "pant-suits" or scrubs were allowed on floor-duty. It was uniform dresses and hosiery, that was the rule. Plus caps. So I couldn't wait to get the cap off, let my hair out of the wound-up braid, and scratch my head! Had to wait until I got home for the rest, but those stockings and shoes (Clinics) were the first to go!

I sometimes feel like when I wear jeans or other non-scrubs that I am dressing up since I feel like I'm always in scrubs

I pretty much go from scrubs to pj's and back to scrubs. I almost feel weird when wearing clothes!
