I have recently been interviewing for a Nurse Liaison position. I have experience with marketing within Hospice, as I am currently a Coordinator for one of our programs; this would be for Home Health. I can't seem to find too much information regarding the Nurse Liaison role and experiences of others. I have spoken with CNL's within my current organization for feedback and it has all been great. It seems like there is flexibility within the role, as well as a very active role. I am currently sitting in a "very" small cubicle all day, and this is not what I envisioned my career path being. Although, I enjoy working within management, I really would like to get back into the field and interact more with patients.
I am nervous about learning the regs for Home Health with Medicare; as I currently am proficient related to Hospice. That is by biggest fear about making the change... I am a perfectionist.
Has anyone had experience as a CNL? If so, what were your challenges? What advice can you give me going into this new chapter in my career?
Thank you.
