Epidemiology intelligence services officer

Has anyone had experience with EIS with CDC? I am extremely interested in applying to the fellowship. I have been a nurse for a year and half. I also have an MPH. So I fit their basic qualification but when I looked at other officers' profile, they all seemed highly qualified with more years of experience in their fields and more advanced degrees (mostly MDs). I want to know if I have a shot if I apply now or whether I should get my doctoral degree and/or more working experience. Thank you.
