I'm an A.A.S.N. prepared nurse completing my Bachelors. It's a Bachelors of Science with a major in nursing. Today I get a letter from my school saying they will be offering a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and I have the option of that degree or the BS with a major in nursing. Now, they seem to be pretty much the same in most regards. I'm just wondering a few things. If I choose to have the BS with a major in nursing, then can I minor in, say, business administration or some other discipline? Can I minor if I do the traditional BSN? Does it matter which degree I have if I pursue my masters degree? I'm just not sure what I want to do with my degree or if I want to stay in the field, so I was thinking that if I had the BS with the nursing major, that may be more beneficial should I decide to switch careers. Am I on track or way off with my thinking? Just not sure what to make of it all.
I am really not sure. I did a search and found this thread which may prove helpful:http://allnurses.com/forums/f17/bsn-...ng-104537.html
