Following Up by Email

The nurse recruiter recently submitted my application to the unit I want to work on, but I haven't heard anything & I would like to send a quick follow-up email to the Nurse Manager. Any advice on subject line & wording? I don't want to be pushy...but I would like to make myself known to her.
