Missed a Good GPA

I just completed my first semester at a local CC and I'm disappointed with the grades that I've received. For math, I had an 88% and I felt that I did well on my final, but once I checked my course grade-- it was a B. And for Anth my instructor told me that I missed an A by 1.5 pts. I feel that those A's were in grasp, but I just wasn't able to reach them. My GPA is a 3.09, and I'm looking for any motivational encouragement because I feel that I've failed. If only I put a little bit of more effort into those two classes, and I could of gotten two A's .
