Help!!! should I go for a BS right off the bat or an AAS degree?!Rating: (votes: 0) There are many factors... money, kids, time etc. You're still young. Nothing beats the college life of a university and I'm glad I went my first 3 years. I did then have to transfer to a tech school because of the waiting lists, and I still loved it. If you are a mom, it seems like the community college life is better and the instructors are more understanding in my opinion. Hard for me to say if I could do it all over again, would I just go to a CC and save money? When I see my student loan bills YES I would, but It's also fun to be young and spending time on a university campus. Make sure you get your tours of the campuses and check your budget. Also their admission requirements. Good luck! Comment: Well the RN to BSN program at my CC is geared more towards the full-time RN. So I am def. doing it after I get my AS degree for RN. I'm pretty young, but I don't have kids. Though, most of the women I know have little ones while working through the program. My reasoning is that it's cheaper, and that I can work while in school, also by the time I finish the program, I hope to have figured out my specialty and then head towards that
