Will becoming a CNA tell me if being a RN (registered Nurse)is my calling?

I am 16 and i am just about to finish my CHSPE ( california High School Profociency Exam).Im going to take my chspe(its equivilent to a High school diploma )in October.In the meantime Im going to get a job as a cna.I do want become a RN.But im not really motivated to do so.Do you think being a cna will tell me if being a Rn (registered nurse) is my calling?Do you have any tips for me before I invest 3 years of my life for prerequisites and nursing school?
I think working as a CNA would help you to decide if you want to be an RN or not. Wait until you are absolutely sure you want to be an RN before you start taking your pre-nursing college classes. I wish you the best of luck.
Yes, I would highly recommend taking a CNA course. I know where I took mine, way back when, you had to be 18. You might want to check on age requirements in your area. You will need lots of motivation to attend nursing school.If you are thinking about doing it for the money, think again. Nursing isn't about the money because I believe that RN's are not adequately paid for everything they do. Salaries for RN's should be much higher. I believe quality nursing is a calling.
