California Nurse Refresher Course questions

Hi,

I have been in the medical devices for the past 10 years but have also kept my nursing license active. I even took a nurse refresher course with a clinical portion 2 years ago. I just got laid off from a med device company and would love anyone's advice on refresher courses in San Diego. Do you think I would need to take another one since it has been two years? I have worked for a company where I am up to date on the latest technology used in hospitals and could actually be a super user for a couple of hospitals that just implemented the system that I supported at the medical device company. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
I would start with putting your resume out there. I think that a refresher course within the last two years is plenty. If you're not getting bites in a few months, THEN I would consider a second refresher course. However, please remember that the market is very tight right now. Experienced hospital nurses are having difficulty getting jobs, and so are new grads. Don't limit your search to hospitals. Include LTACHs, long term care, and other out-of-the-box kind of places. Good luck!
