Any help on making a decision?

Hi all,

I just wanted to see if anyone had any helpful insight on how to bite the bullet and go for something you are really uncertain about. I have been thinking about starting my nursing prerequisites for several years now. Two things are holding me back 1. I have a good paying job that is secure. I know it's not very fulfilling for me, but I'm afraid that if I become a nurse...how secure will my job be, and what if I'm not a good nurse? These are scary thoughts. 2. I have been accepted to go back to school to get an MSW (master's in social work), but for some reason, I just am afraid that I'm not going to be able to support the family and I will feel overeducated and underpaid. I guess I think a lot of the experiences that I'm hoping for in social work (i.e. interactions with patients, really helping people, service and self sacrifice for others) I can get from nursing. I think my wife is ready for me to make up my mind, and so am I. Any helpful advice? Thanks
