How to get 'Experienced' RN jobs?Rating: (votes: 0) I have been looking at job postings on various sites and (to make a long story short) I keep seeing that they require one year experience as an RN. Well...once I start looking for a job that is just it - I'm LOOKING for a job! I will not have the 1 year RN experience! ![]() How am I supposed to get the experience if no one will hire me (for not being experienced)? ![]() You can get a LPN or CNA nurse job initially at a local hospital. It might not pay as much as a RN, but it wil give you the necessary experience to leapfrog to a successful Registered Nursing Career within a year or two. Due to the criticality the job entails, RN jobs without at least a year's experience are hard to find.Hope this helps! It helped a lot! I guess it was a stupid question now that I know the answer, but I was under the assumption that RNs could not apply to do an LPN's job. Oh well! Yes, thank you very much!Comment: Quote from Jules AIt is my understanding that in many states you can't work below your scope of practice so inquire with your bon. I'd try to get a tech job on a unit that you enjoyed clinicals before graduation if things are tight in your area and maybe that would be a segway in for you. Good luck!
