consultant on TV show would be cool

Does anyone remember the plot of Nip/Tuck where the docs start working as consultants on a medical drama? I noticed on Nurse Jackie that they have a consultant by the name of Jenifer Cady BSN,RN. Wouldn't that be awesome? I wonder how she got that job? I know I would never get that lucky but I think that would be sooo cool. Somedays all the regulations and paperwork get me down and when it does, I daydream...anyone else?
