New Student at SFSU

Hi everyone!
I am a new student and was just accepted into SFSU's GMSN program for the Fall 2011 semester. I was just wondering if it's really necessary to buy all of the required books. When I was in college for my undergrad, I didn't buy a lot of the "required" materials and did just fine. But yea just wondering. Thanks! =)
